4 Fun Spring Activities You Can Drive to Near Bowie, TX

1. Harmony Ranch Alpacas

There’s no better time to introduce the kids to the joy of the outdoors, and no better way to do it than with alpacas! Harmony Ranch Alpacas is a family-run farm that aims to educate and inspire the community about these cute llama-like creatures. Look out for events where you can get planting, painting, or picnicking at the farm, along with opportunities to meet and feed the alpacas.
If the winter months have left you feeling a little cramped, you could even try your hand at alpaca yoga. The farm is located at 3893 N US Highway 287 and offers tours, a farm shop, and plenty of opportunities for fun selfies until May.

2. Fish Fry

Fishing enthusiasts know that early spring is the best time to catch the biggest blue catfish, so why not celebrate the fact at the Annual Fish Fry at Bowie High School cafeteria on 31st March? This Bowie FFA Alumni Fundraiser starts at 5pm, with supper by donation and all proceeds to fund scholarships for local students.

If the spring air is turning your thoughts to a hearty dish of catfish with all the trimmings, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

3. Dancing to the Stars

We all have an extra spring in our step at this time of year, so if you’d really like to enter into the spirit of the season, then buy a ticket to this fundraiser at the Bowie Community Center on Pelham Street on 25th March. Local celebrities will be dancing for your entertainment during the dinner. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Bowie, proceeds will go towards scholarships for students in Montague County.

4. Cajun Fest

With live music, a kid’s area, and a crawfish-eating contest, the Cajun Fest will be held on April 22 at Ohio Avenue in Wichita Falls. With the very best of cajun and creole food vendors, you’ll be able to sample all your traditional favorites, as well as soak up the atmosphere at this community event. And it’s a great excuse to enjoy the agile on-road handling of your Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4×4 as you travel the highway. There’s no time like springtime to reconnect with your surroundings and the local community, so make the most of the warmer weather and take the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors wherever you can.
